Hi Everyone,
Thank you for checking out my website. I was born and raised in San Jose, California. My parents migrated here many years ago from a small town in Texas close to the Mexican border to secure a better life and seek out all the wonderful opportunities that life has to offer. Well, now I
have an tremendous opportunity to make a positive contribution in the community, so watch
out Berryessa "Hurricane Hernandez" is coming out swinging.
I married my high school sweetheart who has always been the most beautiful, compassionate, woman I've ever met, besides my Mother of course. She is a school teacher. We have two beautiful children which attend Berryessa schools. I'm a Program Director for InnVision, the largest and most progressive provider of homeless and social services for multiple counties throughout the bay area. I'm proud of my alma mater, Loyola University, New Orleans, and National University in San Jose.
For many years we lived and worked in New Orleans and our first child was born there. When Hurricane Katrina struck we had already moved back to the San Jose area. With family, friends, and strong ties to the Gulf Coast, my family decided I had to return to help in the disaster relief efforts. I temporarily relocated to New Orleans just months after Hurricane Katrina struck while my family remained in San Jose. There I partnered with a business associate, family, and friends to assist with disaster relief efforts in rebuilding the city for one full year.
It was upon my return that I rediscovered the importance of being an active member of my
community and the importance of helping one another through the good times and the bad. This experience has blessed me with tremendous compassion and sensitivity for my family and the
community.
Within the past few years I have served as a Chair for School Site Council at Majestic Way Elementary School, previous PTA President at Majestic Way Elementary school, a continuing member of the Berryessa District Advisory Council, and I remain involved with a variety of local community based organizations.
In 2008 I decided to start "My Project Youth Connect, llc." ( www.mypyc.com ) The company provides free educational workshops to teachers, parents, youth and provides event management and fund development services.
Consequently, being a disciplined community volunteer and my compassion for the community it would be an honor to serve as your next Berryessa School Board Member.
Please vote in November for
David Hernandez For Berryessa School Board.
